20 Mar 4 Car Maintenance Tips for Spring
As cold temperatures become less frequent, now comes the time to check on important aspects of keeping your vehicle in good condition. Here are a few that we suggest checking before cruising with the windows down.
- Replace wiper blades: Blades can become cracked and worn down from the freezing temperatures. When rain and thunderstorms return, it is important to ensure that your visibility of the road is reliable.
- Check belts: Another item essential to your car’s operation is the belts and hoses. These, too, can freeze from the cold temperatures and should be checked, if not replaced, for your safety.
- Check tires: Your tires should be checked and rotated every 6,000 miles to prevent uneven wear or cuts in the sidewalls. If the tread on your tires is too worn down, it might be time to replace them to avert slipping during drives.
- Check fluids: Due to an abundance of salt being splashed onto your windshield, you may have used much of your wiper fluid. Check to see if this fluid, and/or your power steering, transmission, or brake fluids are low as well.
